1-3 FAR Mungadai

Officers—and one Command Sergeant Major—of the 1st Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, “First Gunners,” executed a two-day Mungadai event across Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, April 15–16, 2025. From air assault operations and MOUT lanes to CBRN chambers, Zodiac watercraft, and a surprise mystery event, the challenge tested physical endurance, warrior skills, and leadership under stress. This culminating event built unit cohesion and honored the battalion’s warrior ethos. Participants who completed the Mungadai were awarded the coveted First Gunners Belt Buckle—a symbol of grit, competence, and readiness to lead future operations.
