Soldiers and members of U.S. Army Japan had the opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese event during the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s annual rice-pounding ceremony held on Camp Zama. Hundreds of people from the local community including Zama City Mayor, Mikio Endo, City officials from both Sagamihara and Zama, Assembly members, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force support groups, and more witnessed or took part in the event.
