Within a five minute time limit, provide ventilatory assistance to an apneic patient who has a weak carotid pulse and no other associated injuries. They are required to manually open an airway, suction the mouth and oropharynx, insert an oropharyngeal airway, and ventilate a manikin with a bag-valve-mask device.
