U.S. Marines with the maritime raid force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Republic of Korea Marines conduct a bilateral helicopter rope suspension technique training during exercise Ssang Yong 24 on Pohang, Republic of Korea, Aug. 24, 2024. The exercise sustained the Marine’s HRST proficiency and allowed for them to share techniques with each other. Exercise SY24 strengthens the Republic of Korea-U.S. Alliance through bilateral, joint training, contributing toward combined amphibious capability in defense of the Korean Peninsula.
