Interviews with SSBN Submariners: Effects on Families
Naval History and Heritage Command
March 7, 2021 | 4:42
Active-duty and ballistic missile submariners discuss how their decision to serve affects their families, from adjustments their families continually make, to the welcome distraction work aboard the submarine provides.

These interviews were conducted by the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum in 2016 for use in the museum’s new long-term exhibit “Preserving Peace: The Navy’s Strategic Deterrence Program.” The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is one of ten official U.S. Navy museums within the Naval History and Heritage Command.
