U.S. Army Reserve D Company, 451st Civil Affairs Battalion reacts to battlefield scenarios during a convoy movement, June 10, 2019 at the National Training Center (NTC) in Fort Irwin, Calif. The soldiers experienced simulated improvised explosive devices (IED), blank fire by opposing forces, and CS gas (tear gas) injects during training. A Nebraska Army National Guard flight medic team was radioed in to transport several fictitious casualties in order to conduct decontamination training as well as administer medical aid.

The 451st Civil Affairs Battalion is supporting the Army National Guard's 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team's month-long NTC rotation. The training builds unit and Soldier proficiency to provide combatant commanders with a ready force capable of fighting and winning our nation's wars.
