U.S. Marine Corps Major Jordan "Flowers" Hedges, a pilot with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 (VMFA-121) based out of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan explains the roles and capabilities of the F-35B Lightning II during exercise Valiant Shield Sept. 21, 2018. Valiant Shield is a U.S. only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) with a focus on integration of joint training in a blue-water environment among U.S. forces.
