He speaks about his unit’s role, the maturity and strength he has seen in his soldiers, the interactions they have had with civilians and their reactions, and he shares a couple of anecdotes. In another interview, Army Sgt. Matthew Johns, a welder machinist with the brigade, shares his unit’s role in support of Hurricane Florence relief efforts and talks about assisting a local family and how his experiences so far have personally affected him.
