Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron "Rangers" concluded 57 and a half years of proud and distinguished service in an official disestablishment ceremony. Guest speaker is retired Capt. D.C. East, formerVQ-2 Commanding Officer from July 19, 1982 to July 1, 1983. Established Sept. 1, 1955, VQ-2 is one of two U.S. Navy Airborne Electronic Warfare Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance squadrons conducting worldwide high priority missions on a continuous basis in response to operational tasking by Joint Chiefs of Staff and Theater Commanders.
