091618-N-AG490-0001 NORFOLK (September 16, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) returns to Naval Station Norfolk, Sept. 16, following their sortie due to Hurricane Florence earlier this week. While most ships are making plans to return, USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) and USS Arlington (LPD 24) will remain underway prepared to provide defense support to civilian authorities (DSCA), if requested through U.S. Northern Command.
