836th Transportation Battalion Causeways
U.S. Army Japan
Aug. 20, 2021 | 0:20
836th Transportation Battalion offloads the U.S. Army causeways from USNS Fisher (T-AKR-301) at Yokohama North Dock, Japan, Aug. 20. The Army watercraft returned from Guam after supporting of exercise Pacific Reach.
The Fisher is a U.S. Navy Bob Hope-class roll-on roll-off vehicle cargo ship, which has been in service since August 1998. The Army causeways have special features allowing them to load and offload cargo in places lacking normal port facilities. Causeway systems are deployable aboard container ships and other cargo vessels and extended the reach in the Indo-Pacific region.
