2nd Squadron, 14 Cavalry Regiment Spur Ride
2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division
April 10, 2018 | 0:58
Troopers from 2nd Squadron, 14 Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division honored the history of the Cavalry by participating in a Spur Ride. This Tradition dates back to the time of the Mounted Cavalry where new Troopers were given a horse with a shaved tail to indicate that they were inexperienced in mounted techniques. By the time the horse’s tail grew back, the Trooper would have proved his competence with his steed and earned the right to wear spurs.
