Following the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, the New York National Guard’s 107th Military Police Company responded within hours, helping to secure Ground Zero and aid in the search and recovery efforts that would go on for months. A decade later, the 107th MPs have now completed a year-long rotation at Joint Task Force Guantanamo, where they helped secure an area which now houses the self-proclaimed mastermind of that attack, Khalid Sheik Mohammad, and his four co-conspirators.
