The 436th Mission Generation Group was a United States Air Force unit assigned to the 436th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware.
The group was activated in June 2022 as part of an Air Mobility Command initiative to evaluate a new organizational construct for generating airlift operations. The mission generation concept reorganized elements of the former 436th Maintenance Group and incorporated the 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron, creating the first Mission Generation Group in the U.S. Air Force.
During its existence, the 436th MGG supported global mobility operations through aligning maintenance and logistics functions under a single command to generate and sustain Dover’s assigned C-5M Super Galaxy and C-17A Globemaster III aircraft. Its focus included aircraft generation, fleet sustainment and logistics coordination in support of worldwide airlift missions.
The group also implemented revised production and planning processes, bringing maintainers and logisticians together for shared aircraft status reviews and mission planning to support faster issue resolution and improved information flow across functional areas. It participated in readiness initiatives aligned with Air Mobility Command priorities, including integrated training events emphasizing mission generation under contested and degraded conditions.
After its evaluation period, the 436th MGG was reverted and its components were returned to their previous organizational structures sometime in 2025.
