Retiree Activity Information

Welcome to the 436th Air Wing Retired Activities Office Website.

Retiree activities offices are made up of volunteers from all services including surviving spouses. Our charter is to coordinate, establish and staff an office on an active-duty, reserve or guard base through command channels that will assist retirees with myriad actions. These actions include: serving as an information center for space-available travel, Tricare, base services, etc; offering referrals for financial-assistance and pay matters; and providing literature on retirement issues. Another major activity involves working with base agencies to set up Retiree Activity Day and publishing a yearly newsletter to all retirees.

We also have a very active retiree community volunteering their time in the following areas AMC Museum, Legal Office, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Passenger Terminal, Fitness Center and USO.

Benefits

Benefits of Volunteering

New studies provide information and more evidence that participations in volunteer activities may add years to an older person's life.

Volunteering, the studies say, have found that in many cases volunteering can improve health outcomes for retirees by expanding their social networks, increasing their access to resources and improving their sense of self-worth.
