Airman of the Week: Francis Morrissey Published May 22, 2012 DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Name: Francis Morrissey Age: 11 Parents: Master Sgt. Frank and Carmen Morrissey School: Dover Air Force Base Elementary School; 4th Grade How long have you wrestled? Three years What is your record? 99-28; I am going to get number 100 in two weeks. I am a two-time state champion; I placed seventh in eastern nationals last year, and fifth this year; I placed third in the War at the Shore tournament; I won district and got fourth in regional this year. Favorite wrestling move? A takedown with a double-leg then an arm-bar for the pin What is your favorite part about wrestling? Going out there and having fun. I have a lot of friends here. What is the hardest part about wrestling? When I get nervous; I get nervous at the beginning of the match and calm down as the match goes on. I am always scared that I'm going to lose, but I go and do my best, and usually win. What are your goals? My goals are to be an eastern national champion and Olympic wrestler. Francis has come a long way in a short period of time. He has some God-given talent, is naturally athletic, and is developing his technique. He has used that to win some high-caliber tournaments. He has made a lot of friends; wrestling is one big family. You would think he has been around for 10 years. He has natural talent and likes to work, so as long as he stays on this path he has a future wrestling in college or internationally. If he stays passionate about wrestling, the sky is the limit. - Cory Frederick Coach
