Spaid Squadron: 436th Aerospace Medicine Squadron Job description: Aerospace medical technician Dream assignment and why: Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. It would be like I am on vacation every day. Family: My Husband, Brian Spaid; stepsons, Valen and Colten Spaid; parents, Craig and Candy Shomo; and siblings, Katelynn and Courtney Shomo Favorite movie: "Ace Ventura Pet Detective" Favorite food: Hot wings Favorite book: "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" Who inspires you: My Military Training Instructor at Basic Military Training Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I see myself as an Air Force nurse. Airman 1st Class Spaid is the kind of Airman every supervisor wants. Her work ethic and attitude make her stand out amongst her peers. She is very outgoing and is not afraid to take on new tasks and responsibilities. I often depend on her to work independently, and her integrity speaks for itself in the quality of work that is accomplished. She demonstrated early on as a three-level that she could work hard and required little supervision, as she was selected to manage the base wide Physical Health Assessment program. Spaid currently works in the 436th Flight Medicine Clinic where she helps manage all personnel on flying status. She has completed her Community College of the Air Force degree, and is eager to apply for the Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program as soon as she achieves the rank of senior Airman. She has impeccable military bearing and is an example to all Airmen. - Tech. Sgt. John Graham, Supervisor
