Renovations to improve quality of service at the Eagle Lanes Bowling Center were completed Nov. 14.

The $250,000 renovations were funded by end-of-year money from the 436th Force Support Squadron.

"We had a lot of hands in getting this overhaul up and running," said Carl Schlesinger, 436th FSS ELBC manager. "We had a really good year at the bowling alley, and we really needed these renovations. We replaced our monitors and increased our seating area. We should be able to serve more patrons now than we did before."

The renovations consisted of replacing cathode ray-tube monitors with flat-screen monitors, replacing the tables and chairs with more space efficient furniture, installing new ball racks behind the lanes, upgrading the lane consoles and replacing the console chairs with stools. The lane mechanisms received an upgrade as well to improve the ball returns and pin-setting devices.

"We have been trying to get the renovations approved over the last three years," said Pamela Alston, 436th Contracting Squadron chief of the base operating flight. "You have to make sure everything is set up so we know how much everything will cost. We were so excited to see it go through this year after trying the last couple of years. Now that we have these renovations completed I'm looking forward to trying my hand at bowling a bit more."
