Dover Airmen have a 'golden' opportunity to learn about how they can earn a commission from a recent U.S Air Force Academy graduate.

2nd Lt. Matt Chism will give a presentation for Airmen interested in attending the Academy Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. in classroom T-3 in the education trailers, across from Building 639.

"Lieutenant Chism spends a lot of time on the road speaking about Academy opportunities and he is coming soon to speak to single Airmen, under 23 years old, about enlisted opportunities to attend the Air Force Academy," said Frank DiNatale, Dover AFB education services counselor.

Airmen attending the commissioning briefing can also familiarize themselves with the requirements they will need to already have or fulfill to apply, such as the Air Force Officer Qualification Test, college credit and other exams, said Mr. DiNatale.

"My briefings give Airmen an overview and save many hours explaining the fine details of putting together a successful package," he said.

When an Airman is interested in applying and arranging their commission application, Mr. DiNatale can assist them during a one on one appointment.

"I help Airmen fine-tune their application," said Mr. DiNatale. "Airmen who may not feel confident in applying for the Academy can apply for the Academy Preparatory School instead," he said.

The Academy Preparatory School is a 10-month school that helps Airmen, through academic preparation, to apply for the Academy.

"I encourage Airmen who are inspired in becoming commissioned officers to attend this briefing and find out firsthand information by talking to an Academy graduate," said Mr. DiNatale.
