Dr. Gerald Lemole, Medical Director of Christiana Care Preventive Medicine and Rehab Institute and Center for Integrative Health, will give a presentation titled, "Beyond Traditional Medicine: a holistic approach to wellness, at conference room 2A in the base clinic. "This presentation will give people an opportunity to learn other methods for improving their health," said Nikki Voyer, HAWC Health Education Program Manager. "Not everyone wants to take medication to lower their cholesterol and Dr. Lemole may help to motivate the base to take responsibility for their own health decisions." Dr. Lemole not only reaches out to a wide audience through presentations, but also with his book, 'The Healing Diet: A Total Health Program to Purify Your Lymph System and Reduce the Risk of Heart Disease, Arthritis, and Cancer.' "I have read Dr. Lemole's book, and have incorporated some of his principles into my own life and recommend the same to my patients," said Kate Jennings, HAWC Registered Dietitian. "I know that his approach blends traditional medicine with alternative medicine, which takes into account of a person's total health needs. "I believe his message is relevant and essential with our Health & Wellness Center's message of promoting health and prevention," she said. Space is limited and registration is required.
