After nearly four months of renovations, the base theater will reopen for business Dec. 11.

The theater will open for business Dec. 11, and will include an advanced screening of the new Jim Carrey movie, "Yes Man" on Dec. 13. The screening is free and open to all Department of Defense ID card holders, but tickets must be picked up at the Base Exchange or Burger King on base.

"The base has totally renovated the inside of the theater with all new seating, carpeting, flooring and a new sound system," said Mattie Watson, Army and Air Force Exchange Services BX store manager. "The bathrooms have been a complete overhaul and renovation and there will also be a brand new snack area and projection system."

With all of the upgrades, AAFES still plans to keep the ticket prices low. Prices are regulated by the Reel Time Theater in Dallas and include data from surveying the local area.

We're going to be less expensive than off base, said Ms. Watson. "That includes not just the ticket price, but also the food."

Many of the upgrades were possible due to funds from Dover AFB winning the 2008 Commander-in-Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence.
