Dover AFB receives new maintenance trainer
The two protruding metal pieces highlighted here are part of the ventilation duct work in the Avionics Station of the trainer. The duct work in the trainer is real but serves no practical purpose and is not required for any reason other than to create the same interferences that a student would encounter on the actual aircraft. It was installed to help create the high physical fidelity, which is evident throughout the trainer. (U.S. Air Force photo and photo illustration/Senior Airman James Bolinger)
