Two teams of Marines from Marine Barracks Washington, also known as "8th & I," participated in the 436th Security Forces Squadron sponsored 9th Annual Ruck March, Feb. 2 at the Air Mobility Museum here. One of the teams of Marines, from the oldest active post in the Marine Corps, took second place in the Ruck March, which commemorated Veterans of the Korean War Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Honorary commanders inducted
Lt. Col. Wes Moore, 436th Airlift Wing staff judge advocate, explains a facet of Dover Air Force Base’s mission to 436th Airlift Wing honorary commander Tina Showalter, chief prosecutor for Kent County. Mrs. Showalter was inducted into the Dover Air Force Base Honorary Commander’s program at the base Jan. 31. More than 50 community leaders were inducted as honorary commanders where they will interact with their Air Force active duty and Reserve counterparts. The program promotes understanding, appreciation and camaraderie between Dover Air Force Base members and the surrounding community. Airmen deployed to the 332nd Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, Marine Corps Air Base Al Taqaddum (TQ), Iraq, practice elbow-assault techniques during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program training session.
