Environmental cleanup; AF joins forces with fed and state agencies to clean groundwater around Dover AFB

Rob Young, an Oak Ridge National Laboratory field technician for URS Corp, is taking a water level measurement from an extraction well. The well is located near the base perimeter fence line adjacent to Route 1. URS Corp has worksites on Dover Air Force Base, and is the lead contractor overseeing contamination cleanup at Dover. The base is on the Superfund cleanup list and is in the final phase of cleanup. The Air Force, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control have partnered together to cleanup contaminated areas around the base.
