Dover civilian police officers

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Richard Copeland, 436th Security Forces Squadron civilian police officer, checks IDs at the Dover AFB gate. Dover civilian officers were hired as part of an Air Force-wide effort to stabilize security forces career field manning. The new police officers will be required to maintain physical and appearance standards, but will not be subject to some Air Force customs and courtesies, such as saluting officers.
