Beefing up the ramp for heavy jets

John Silverio sprays the surface of a newly-poured concrete pad with a quick-curing agent while the project foreman, Glen Rhoades, provides guidance June 20, 2014, at Dover Air Force Base, Del. The curing agent helps the concrete surface dry quickly to prevent cracking. Thick, reinforced, concrete pads have been poured on the Dover AFB flight line in an ongoing project to better support the weight of heavy aircraft such as the C-5M Super Galaxy shown behind.
