Thank you for your interest in visiting Dover Air Force Base. Active civic outreach programs enable commanders to enhance morale, public trust, and support. Air Force professionals involved in the communities where they live become front-line ambassadors for the Air Force.
General Tour Information
Tours will be given Tuesday through Thursday. No tours will be given on weekends or federal holidays. Tours are free of charge.
Due to the logistics of room capacity, parking availability, and mode of transportation, tours are limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 40 participants.
Requesting a Tour
Groups requesting a tour must complete the Tour Request Form (Click here for the form). Requests should be submitted 30 days prior to the requested tour date and will be accommodated on a space available basis. Requests must be submitted through the 436th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office and are accepted up to six months in advance. Tours will be coordinated one month in advance and will be finalized two weeks prior to the date of tour.
Tours will begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and end no later than 3:30 p.m. depending upon tour schedule. Tours of Dover AFB may include any of the various organizations on base to include static displays and demonstrations. While every effort will be made to honor requests, we must work around our daily operations schedule and no particular activities can be guaranteed. A tour may be cancelled at any time, without notice due to increased security measures or unique mission requirements. There will be no substitutions for cancellations.
All buses/vans must arrive at the Main Gate for security processing. Buses will be met at the Main Gate by a Dover AFB Tour Ambassador who will accompany the group onboard the bus and will remain with them for the duration of the tour. If a group is running late due to unforeseen circumstances it is the group's responsibility to contact the Public Affairs office at 302-677-3372 or 302-677-3376 to see if adjustments can be made to the tour itinerary. If a group does not contact the Public Affairs office and is more than 15 minutes late for their tour, the tour may be cancelled. If a tour is cancelled, it may be rescheduled for a later available date.
Cameras are allowed on the tour; however, there are some restrictions. Your tour guide will inform you of these restrictions.
There will be no Public Affairs sponsorship for overnight visits.
