Otsubo Squadron: 736th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Job description: C-17 Hydraulic Systems Journeyman Dream assignment and why? Hickam AFB, HI; I'd like to be closer to my aging parents. Family: Mother and grandmother Hometown: Hilo, Hawaii Favorite movie: "The Emperor's New Groove" Favorite food: Bread and pasta Favorite book: "From Here to Eternity" Hobbies: Running and surfing Who inspires you? Flightline Airmen; working with these Airmen during my last deployment, in subzero temperatures, showed me a level of job commitment I'd never seen prior to enlisting. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Either as a leader on the frontlines as a Combat Rescue Officer, or in the classroom as an English teacher. Senior Airman Otsubo is one of the most admirable Airmen that I have had the pleasure of working and deploying with. He displays a selfless dedication and commitment to becoming the best at every endeavor. He takes great pride in performing every assignment no matter the size with a professional attitude and welcome smile. This dedication was recently recognized when he won Airman of the Quarter for the 436th Maintenance Group. His strive to improve himself, and the Air Force, continues as he was recently invited to attend Phase 2 of Combat Rescue Officer Training after he aced his Phase 1 qualification test. Otsubo exemplifies the Air Force core values and has become a stellar role model for others to follow. It is an honor and a privilege to serve with an Airman of this caliber and I look forward to one day having the honor of saluting this great Airman who no doubt will become a great leader in tomorrow's Air Force.
