Airman of the Week: Airman 1st Class Rachel M. Simmons Published July 31, 2012 By 436th Airlift Wing DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Name/rank: Airman 1st Class Rachel M. Simmons Squadron: 436th Maintenance Operations Squadron Job description: Maintenance data system analyst Dream assignment and why? Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, because it would be like living in paradise Family: My dad, Richard Simmons, and my sisters Rebecca Simmons-Milkavic and Robin Simmons Favorite movie: "Top Gun" Favorite food: Pasta Favorite book: "Digital Fortress," by Dan Brown Who inspires you? My dad inspires me because he is my driving force to be better. He retired as a master sergeant in the Air Force and continues to hold the core values of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I hope to still be in the Air Force and working on my doctorate. From the moment Airman 1st Class Rachel M. Simmons arrived at Dover AFB, she has played a huge role in our office, squadron and wing. She exemplifies the model Airman by her work ethic and volunteerism. She has already spearheaded the effort to transform the Airmen's Attic as well as taken on many roles within the squadron booster club. She is also going to be pursuing her master's degree in intel and art therapy once she has completed her Career Development Courses. She's eager to learn and has picked up on all of her on-the-job training flawlessly. I am glad we have Simmons as a part of our team. - Staff Sgt. Evelyn Merritte Supervisor
