The Eagle Lanes Bowling Center hosted a free Football Frenzy party for Team Dover and their families Sept. 13.

The Air Force Services Club event was held at the ELBC for the first time, and clubmembers had a chance to win a trip to the Super Bowl.

"I think this was a great event," said Senior Airman Kenneth Best, 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron and Services clubmember. "Though this was only my first Football Frenzy party, there was a good variety of food and I enjoyed the game with my family. We all had a good time and I'm hoping to win tickets to the Super Bowl."

Although only clubmembers have a chance to win tickets, any Airman and their guest are welcome to join in on the party. Door prizes such as free shirts, hats and gift baskets were given to those who attended.

"People don't have to be a clubmember to enjoy the game on a 15-foot high definition projection screen at the Airman's Outpost," said Carl Schlesinger, 436th Force Support Squadron ELBC manager. "From our customer surveys, the reviews say our food was amazing, and the facility and customer service was excellent."

Football fans know that watching the game would not be complete without snacks, which is why the bowling center offered a buffet at a low price, said Lorraine Padgett, 436th FSS Eagle ELBC assistant manager.

"This was an awesome opportunity for football fans to come to a party without having to worry about cleaning up afterward," Mrs. Padgett explained. "Airmen of all ranks and their guests are invited to come, and we even have a safe plan to help them get home."

Nine Dover Airmen Against Drunk Driving volunteers attended the party and were on stand-by to give a free ride home.

"Not only did I get to enjoy the party, I was available to offer a ride to those who may need a safe way to get home," said Senior Airman Jenny Taegel, 436th Dental Squadron DAADD representative.

"Compared to off-base sports bar parties, I believe we had the best deal - a chance to win free tickets to the Super Bowl, best prices for food and a way to get home!" said Mrs. Padgett.

The ELBC will be offering Football Frenzy parties Nov. 1, Dec. 13, and Feb. 7.
