3rd inning slugfest leads AFMAO victory over 436 CPTS 13 - 3 Published July 9, 2009 By Staff Sgt. Chad Padgett 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center Intramural Softball team came ready to play as they defeated the 436th Comptroller Squadron 13 - 3. Both teams defenses kept the scoreboard empty for the first two innings, but the third inning saw the defenses weaken. The Comptrollers scored three runs in the top of the inning before AFMAO stepped up to bat and answered with eight runs of their own. "The game went really well after a rocky start," said Elmer Feliciano, AFMAO coach. "Because of our workload we don't get a lot of time to practice, so we've had to adjust from the first game." A series of errors in the fourth inning resulted in four more runs for AFMAO including a very close slide by Xavier Gonzales, who barely beat the tag from the catcher. "We've been mixing it up pretty good at practice, it's always hard getting the same people into the same positions," said Thomas Sebulsky, 436 CPTS coach. "Now we just have to try and pull together."
