The 2008 Air Force Community Assessment Survey is currently underway, and 1,819 Airmen from the 436th Airlift Wing were selected to participate.

The results of the survey will be used by base leadership and the Air Force to target resources where they are most needed and enhance the well-being of the community.

The Airmen selected to participate received a notification letter in their work e-mail inbox, informing them of their selection. The e-mail contains the information needed to access the survey. Additional reminder e-mails will be sent out until the Airman completes the survey, which is scheduled to run through June 30.

"The goal for each base is to have a 60 percent response rate," said LaMonte Wilson, Dover Air Force Base Integrated Delivery System co-chair. "So far, we have received 520 responses, but we need at least 1,091 active-duty Airmen to respond to meet the goal."

Survey responses can directly influence family services and related support activities at bases and throughout the Air Force. In fact, results from previous Air Force Community Assessments have impacted the policies and programs that support families at every level of the Air Force, to include expanding financial counseling programs to members and their families, developing a user-friendly support network for active-duty single parents and set up marriage support seminars for junior enlisted members and their spouses.

As part of a Department of Defense-sponsored initiative, this year's Community Assessment, along with some supplemental questions, will be used to direct additional resources to help servicemembers and families base-wide.

Along with active-duty Airmen, 1,126 reservists and 1,543 spouses of active-duty Airmen were selected to participate in the survey, said Mr. Wilson. The goal set for spouses is 385 responses, while the goal for reservists is 561 responses. Any spouse of an active-duty Airman is eligible to participate in the survey at http://spouseafcasurvey.com, and the access code is SpouseAFCA.
