Dream assignment, why? Germany. It has always been my family's dream to go overseas, and the amount of history in Europe is amazing.
Who inspires you? My parents and my husband because they have always pushed me to be better than I think I can be, which is extremely helpful at times when it would be easier to quit.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Working on becoming a first sergeant, if I'm not already one. I love helping people and I have always seen being a first sergeant as a good way to do that. It is one of those positions where you are given the opportunity to make a difference in your squadron, and I would love to do that.
Senior Airman Kayla Gardner is a valuable asset to the 436th Maintenance Operations Squadron. Her specialized technical knowledge regarding the Computer-Aided Maintenance System for Airlift database, or G081 System, consistently makes life easier for personnel across Dover Air Force Base, Del. Airman Gardner's positive attitude and willingness to go out of her way to solve database problems sets her apart from her peers. As a member of a mil-to-mil marriage, and proud mother of a baby girl, Airman Gardner manages to combat stress with cheerfulness and spreads this sentiment among the rest of us. Her G081 knowledge increases the experience level among Airmen in the shop by 50 percent. Just this week, data regarding the performance of the C-5M Super Galaxy provided by Airman Gardner was passed all the way up to the Air Mobility Command commander.
