Families waited anxiously for the return of soldiers from the 946th Transportation Company, U.S. Army Reserve of Lewes, Del., Nov. 23, 2013, at the passenger terminal on Dover Air Force Base, Del.

More than 60 soldiers returned from a 90-day deployment to Afghanistan where they conducted convoy operations and got home just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

"I am excited to be home for the Thanksgiving holiday because it is my birthday," said Spc. Courtney Riggs, 946th TC motor transport operator. "I am also ready to see my daughter."

Jessica Martin, wife of Spc. Robert Martin, waited anxiously with her children Blake, Beau and Hannah for the return of her husband. She was excited for him to finally meet their 3-month-old son, who was born during her husband's deployment.

"I am beyond happy," said Martin. "He actually gets to meet our son for the first time. I am on the verge of crying, but I am happy."

Sofia and Samuel Degginger, children of Spc. Seth Degginger, were also very excited to have their dad home for Thanksgiving.

"I feel good about my daddy coming home," said Sofia. "It has been a really long time."
