Aircraft tie-down safety inspections
Loadmasters of the 436th Airlift Wing pose with numerous MB-2 25k tie-down devices that have been removed from C-5M and C-17A aircraft after being identified as defective at Dover Air Force Base, Del. on Sept. 10, 2013. The loadmasters conducted a mass inspection to identify and remove devices with problems that could cause them to fail while under tension. From left to right are: Technical Sgt. Olvin Agosto, 9th Airlift Squadron, Master Sgt. Donavan Beckford, 3rd AS, Staff Sgt. Aaron Sauke, 3rd AS, TSgt. Jenon McPhatter, 3rd AS and SSgt. Ryan Thompson, 3rd AS. The problem with the 25K tie-down devices was identified by the 436th AW Safety Office which sought the mass inspection to determine if the problem is isolated to just a few devices or systemic.
