DHS Press Event on Southbound Arms Interdiction, Consequence Delivery

On Monday, June 2, U.S. Customs and Border Protection held a press availability with law enforcement partners to highlight DHS and interagency efforts regarding interdictions of southbound firearms. Led by CBP's Director of Field Operations for Laredo, Homeland Security Investigations’ Special Agent in Charge, San Antonio, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent in Charge, Houston Field Division, the press availability will showcase recent weapons interdictions and emphasize the enhanced consequences for weapons smuggling given the designation of major Mexico cartels as foreign terror organizations as well as criminal consequences for straw-purchasing firearms for others. Media will have the opportunity to capture b-roll of firearms and related paraphernalia interdicted recently in the South Texas area.  DFO Donald R.
