CERFP Training Exercise
155th Air Refueling Wing, Nebraska Air National Guard
April 6, 2013 | 5:52
Army and Air Guardsmen trained together to prepare for CERFP validation. This training is important not only for validation requirements, but could be used in numerous real world domestic situations.
Troops included: Fatality Search and Rescue provided by Iowa ANG, Search and Extraction from the 623rd Engineer Company, Decontamination Element from 754 Chemical Company, 126th Battalion Headquarters made up Command and Control Element, 155th ARW Medical squadron the Medical Element. CERFP stands for CBRN Enhanced Response Force Package, and CBRN stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear.
The scenario: an F5 tornado hit Omaha NE. It hit Rosenblatt stadium, where an all-star baseball game was taking place, it also hit the Henry Dorley Zoo, and a chemical plant. The Chemical plant is leeching gas north across the stadium and zoo. All elements are working together to take care of casualties.
