On August 15, 2017, the Iowa Cubs played host to the Iowa National Guard, service members from both Army and Air were in attendance. Maj. Gen. Timothy Orr, Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, presented his coin to Michael Gartner, Chairman of the Iowa Cubs, during pregame festivities.
Also during the pregame, a video review of momentous events the guard has played a role in throughout this year, instilling the Core Values of both Army and Air.
