Missouri National Guard Sergeant First Class Drew Ishmael from the 135th Military History Detachment had the distinct honor to sit down with U.S. Army Nurse Corps retired Captain Martha Meers Moyer in a live audience interview at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Capt. Martha Moyer served in World War II and describes her life as she remembers it from the day she was born, her experiences while serving in uniform, when she entered France four days after D-Day, the support from her family and thanks those veterans serving today. Martha is the great-aunt of the Missouri National Guard's 229th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, Command Sergeant Major Timothy Meers, where he and his family surprised her with five distinctive medals she earned during her time in the war.
