The U.S. Army’s XVIII Airborne Corps, deployed from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to areas in Southwest Asia, transferred command authority to the III Armored Corps, deployed from Fort Hood, Texas. CJTF-OIR is an 81-member global coalition, which works by, with, and through partner forces to defeat ISIS in designated areas of Iraq and Syria, and sets conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability.
