Col Donald R. Ohlemacher Civil Engineer Officer Professional Development Laboratory - Dedication Ceremony

On Friday 24 July, 2020, the AFIT Civil Engineer School held a ceremony to dedicate Room 117 as the Colonel Donald R. Ohlemacher Civil Engineer Officer Professional Development Laboratory. Throughout his impressive career as a Civil Engineer officer, Col Ohlemacher continuously demonstrated the core values that our Air Force strives to instill in every Airman: integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. His impact on our community will have lasting effects, from his time at base level, MAJCOM headquarters, Headquarters Air Force, and his most recent role as the Dean of the Air Force Institute of Technology’s (AFIT) Civil Engineer School, where he was responsible for providing Professional Continuing Education to 8,300 military and civilian members annually as well as the Initial Skills Training for all newly commissioned Civil Engineer officers. In the wake of Col Ohlemacher’s passing on 01 August 2020, the Civil Engineer community will continue to honor his service to the Air Force and the legacy he leaves behind for his wife, children, and thousands of Airmen Engineers.
