Air Force Special Operations Command
May 8, 2017 | 3:55
In honor of activating the 492nd Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Florida, several members of the World War II 492nd Bombardment Group recollected their missions supporting the Office of Strategic Services. Bill Becker, a former Army Air Force sergeant in the 492nd Bombardment Group who flew Operation Carpetbagger missions over Europe in World War II, speaks about nighttime flying on specially painted B-24 aircraft to deliver Office of Strategic Services agents by airdrop.
