DCG assumes responsibility of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence
U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence
Nov. 19, 2024 | 15:25
Brig. Gen. Michael Liesmann assumed responsibility as the deputy to the commanding general (DCG) of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (USAICoE) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Nov. 18, 2024.
The role of this new position is critical for USAICoE. The DCG will drive forward the Army’s intelligence modernization efforts and directly support the commanding general in achieving USAICoE’s mission.
As the DCG, a key responsibility is to deliver intelligence support aligned with the Army’s 2030 objectives, to ensure our intelligence capabilities meet the demands of an evolving battlefield. Looking further ahead, the DCG will also lead the design and development of intelligence support for the Army’s 2040 objectives and beyond, to enable our intelligence forces to anticipate and adapt to future threats.
A cornerstone of this role is to establish the USAICoE Fielded Force Integration Directorate (FFID) Office. This new office will be instrumental in ensuring that intelligence capabilities developed at USAICoE integrate seamlessly with operational forces, aligning modernization initiatives with real-world mission requirements. Through the FFID, the DCG will bridge the gap between innovation at USAICoE and its practical application across the force, to ensure our Soldiers are equipped with cutting-edge intelligence tools and techniques.
In this role, the DCG will shape the future of Army intelligence, bringing a unified, strategic vision that prepares USAICoE to remain Always Out Front in the face of new and complex challenges.
