Aug. 15, 2013 | 1:14
Field Medics with 1st Squadron, 158th Cavalry Regiment, Maryland Army National Guard train in Fort Drum's Bridgewater- Vacarro Medical Simulation Training Center. The excercise was part of their qualification and certification to keep their skills sharp and their people prepared and mission ready. The MSTC includes ambient combat zone sounds, robots that have vital signs, and smoke machines to simulate the chaos of medical treatment under fire. Soundbites from Sgt. 1st Class Larry M. Lecates, Jr., Delmar, Del., 1st Lt. Jesse Bascom, Arlington, Va. Produced by Staff Sgt. John Higgins.
