Only one percent of all enlisted members can occupy the rank of chief master sergeant. An achievement such as this does not come independently; it requires a team effort--a family effort.

The contributions of spouses, significant others, and family members are priceless. They've been there for us regardless of the circumstances... remote assignments, extended TDY's long hours, humanitarian missions, and during times of war. Our families are our legacies and they are the secret to our success as a people, a nation, and a military.

The nine candles represent the nine grades of the enlisted force. As the candles are lit, so must you light your hearts and minds to inspire the enlisted force to light the way for others to follow.
