Climate Action Plan AFRL Video
Defense Media Activity - Air Force
Sept. 20, 2023 | 1:32
September 20th, 2023 – Ed Clark, Air Force Research Laboratory – RXT aviation program lead, discusses new designs on the fan duct for the KC-135 Stratotanker. The original fan-duct panel has a water intrusion problem that causes delamination. This delamination causes sustainment, maintenance and energy efficiency problems. The modified panel fixes these issues with modern materials being used.
The fan-ducts are being installed by Airmen at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Columbus, Ohio, as part of the Air Force’s focus on the Climate Action Plan.
