Camp Pendleton commemorates 68th anniversary of Inchon landing
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton
Sept. 15, 2018 | 1:03
On Sept. 15, 1950, U.S. Marines made a surprise amphibious landing at Inchon, South Korea, starting the Inchon-Seoul campaign. Seoul, the capital of South Korea, had fallen to Communist forces in June of that year; the landing would lead to the retaking of the capital by U.S. and South Korean forces.
