DuPont named a Purple Heart City
5th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment
May 5, 2024 | 0:52
The city of DuPont, Washington, becomes a Purple Heart city and hosts Congressional Gold Medal ceremony, May 5, 2024. A city can become a Purple Heart city only after the mayor gives a proclamation and presentation to a local chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. The Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian award that is bestowed by Congress, was awarded to five veterans posthumously and one living recipient. (U.S. Army video by Pvt. Kyle Kimble)
