IT1 Samuel Ellis, a participating member of Exercise Obangame Express 2021, returns home to the school he went to growing up in Tema, Ghana on March 23, 2021. Obangame Express is being hosted in Ghana, where IT1 Ellis lived until he won the U.S. Green Card Lottery when he was 29. Obangame Express, conducted by U.S. Naval Forces Africa, is an at-sea maritime exercise designed to improve cooperation among participating nations in order to increase maritime safety and security in the Gulf of Guinea and West African coastal regions.
