How Dams Manage Water

The Portland District operates 13 dams in the Willamette River basin, two dams in the Rogue River basin and Willow Creek Dam in Heppner, Oregon. that contribute to managing water resources. These dams help reduce flood risks and many contribute to power generation, water quality improvement, irrigation, fish and wildlife enhancement and recreation.
